Chez MainLine 2012-10-09

A big thank you to all who came out to help celebrate our seventh anniversary. I myself was unable to stay and party as much as I would have wanted to but I have spent the last three days lost in a Neo citron and Nyquil enduced haze. Hopefully all the phlegm will clear up in time for this week's shows because they are going to be AWESOME!

First up we have:
The MAP Project: Social Lab

MAP Project, the company who brought you MAP: Season One, is embarking on Season Two at MainLine Theatre. This year, we're opening up our 'Social Lab' video-documentation process to YOU:
and we’d like to celebrate!

MAP is hosting our very first Event on Thursday October 11th and it’s free!
We’re changing the Mainline into a living room and will feature some music and performance interludes, in between some dancing and talking.

Come for the party, stay for the performance interludes featuring some Montreal emerging artists.

MAP Project develops our shows from verbatim video documentary taken from our own lives. Every sunday night, we hang out, film ourselves, and write scripts from our own words and stories. On Thursday October 11th, we're converting MainLine theatre into a MAP 'Social Lab' living room, complete with music, drinks, and cameras. Come do your own 'bathroom confessional', and have the chance to get your words into the next MAP script... or even perform in the next MAP show.

Thursday 9pm and I beleive this one's FREE.

Hosted by Al Lafrance, this night will feature comedy by:

Molly Brisebois

Confabulation: Masquerade

Confabulation is a unique storytelling event in Montreal where all the stories are true. They are honest accounts, told without notes, props, or gimmicks. The show is inspired by The Moth, and millennia of oral tradition history, and hopes to encourage the practice and art of storytelling in this contemporary world.
Hosted and produced by local actor and comedian Matt Goldberg, Confabulation brings you a showcase of unique, true tales told live by people.

All kinds of people.
Doctors. Boxers. Students. Grandmas. You.
Anybody.
And hopefully, everybody.

October's theme is Masquerade: Stories about disguises, mysteries and adventures undercover.

Storytellers TBA.
Saturday Oct. 13th at 8pm 6$
