Festival Production/Administration Internship

The St-Ambroise Montreal FRINGE Festival is seeking an enthusiastic, organized and resourceful individual to work along side the Festival Director & General Manager. The candidate will assist the Director with a variety of tasks. This stimulating and challenging opportunity to be a part of a fantastic team will help one learn the ins and outs of a fast-paced, exciting and diverse festival and independant arts venue. The ideal candidate would be bilingual, comfortable with Microsoft Office, have experience in the performing arts and present good communication skills. Event planning, stage managing, production management are all assets. This position is not paid, however it is an internship, in which you can receive credits for school, if that can be arranged with your program. There is a possibility of extension of the internship for the fall semester. Hours can vary depending on the arrangement made with the Festival Director.

MainLine Theatre - Theatre Technician Internship

INTERNSHIP PERIOD: SEPTEMBER 1ST – DECEMBER 31ST, 2013

MainLineTheatre is offering two technical internships for the fall season! Reporting tothe Technical Director, this internshipoffers excellent exposure to the technical operations behind indie theatre in anon-for-profit organization. A minimum of 25 hours a month is to be filled byeach intern. Theatre or technician experienceis favoured but not required. Technician interns will be needed to executeinstalls and strikes of companies, operate performances in the theatre, and providegeneral technical maintenance. Successful applicants will gain valuable hands on experience, knowledge,and technical training in lighting, projection and sound, operating shows,working with artists and the basics of lighting design. There is also thepossibility of training in lighting photometrics, programing Q-Lab and more! MainLineTheatre is an affordable and friendly venue located in the heart of Montreal'sPlateau. Ideal for young, up and coming artists as well as seasoned veterans ofthe stage.

REQUIREMENTS
· Exceptional interpersonal andcommunication skills
· Exceptional organizational skills
· Full training is provided, but thesuccessful candidate will have to be able to work independently on assigned projects and therefore must be a self-starter
· Ability to work as part of a team
· Interest in theatre creation, producing, artistic development and design
· Passion for the performing arts anda working knowledge of Montreal’s professional theatre scene
· Experience in leadership roles anddesire to improve leadership skills
· Previous technician experience & previous theatre or other performing arts creation experience are assets
· Fluency in English and French is an asset
