Rachel at Risk + FRINGE IS COMING!

Two weeks until we FRINGE...
Playing next week at MainLine Theatre...
MainLine is dark this week as we prepared for the Summit Theatre production of Rachel at Risk. Opening next week, Rachel at Risk was written after extensive interviews with over fifty youth with developmental disabilities at Montreal’s Summit School. These frank discussions about their outlook on life were infused into every line of the play.
The result is a through-the-looking-glass journey into their world; a world where the system that tries to protect them often does not understand them, and where they have to fight to be accepted. Co-directed by Jesse Heffring and Jeremy Hechtman, Rachel at Risk is about love and courage in two acts. Due to thematic elements and language the show may not be appropraite for those under 14.
In other news, the 23rd edition of the St-Ambroise Montreal FRINGE Festival runs from June 3-23! I've decided to list a few of the events taking place at MainLine during the festival. Please see below.
En scène la semaine prochaine au Théâtre MainLine...
Aussi, le Festival St-Ambroise FRINGE de Montréal arrive dans moins de deux semaines.
Il fait noir au MainLine cette semaine alors qu'on se prépare pour la production de Théâtre Summit de Rachel at Risk. Cette pièce, qui ouvre la semaine prochaine, fut écrite après de nombreuses entrevues avec plus de 50 jeunes avec des difficultés de dévloppement à l'École Summit de Montréal. Chaque réplique de la pièce est infuse de ces discussions franches à propos de leur vision de la vie. Le résultat est un voyage de-l'autre-côté-du-miroir dans leur monde, un monde où un système qui cherche à les protéger souvent ne les comprend pas, et où ils doivent se battre pour être acceptés. Une co-mise en scène de Jesse Heffring et Jeremy Hechtman, Rachel at Risk raconte amour et courage en deux actes. À cause de thèmes difficiles et de langage vulgaire, cette pièce n'est pas recommandée au moins de 14 ans.
