Beaver Dreams tells a story about a family of beavers and a family of humans living in the heart of the Quebecois forest. The beavers go about their daily life; gnawing on wood and building dams. The humans try to go about their typical summer chalet activities; sun tanning on the dock, dancing in the moon light. But when the dam raises the water level over the dock's edge there is a perpetual struggle between construction and destruction, between the animal and its adversaries. Both the beavers and the humans experience the same nightmare depicting commercial development that threatens their corner of paradise. What if the beavers thought the same as us?

With humour and grace, three families struggle with the inevitability of death and their inability to express everything they want to. Set in a pastoral hospice, this poignant play examines questions not only of death and loss, but also of love, identity, and each person's place in the world.

Confabulation is a unique storytelling event in Montreal, Toronto and Victoria where all the stories told are true. They are honest accounts presented without notes, props, or gimmicks. The show hopes to encourage the practice and art of storytelling in this contemporary world.

Set in London 1997, four lives intertwine over the course of four and a half years in this densely plotted, stinging look at modern love and betrayal. Winner of the 1998 Olivier Award for Best Play and the 1999 New York Drama Critics' Circle Award for Best Foreign Play.
