Revolution They Wrote: Short Works Feminist Theatre and Performance Festival presented in partnership with MainLine Theatre is a 4-day event that aims to present new feminist works. With these works, we create an artistic space that is primed to educate, provoke and inspire change both on the stage and in our daily lives.

The festival looks for works that discuss the intersections of feminism. We believe theatre and performance can act as catalysts to change us, but also to validate the lived experiences of those in our communities struggling to see themselves reflected in the mainstream media. For us, the key to that is a diverse collection of perspectives on race, ability, gender and sexuality.

We hope this annual festival becomes a space where feminist artists to celebrate and create art. We want to inspire and empower our artists and audiences to examine the representations of women, people of colour, people with disabilities, and trans and queer people in performance. To achieve this the jury selects works and creates a personalized plan for the development of each piece alongside the artist. We work with creators to support and grow their play/performance. From the germination of an idea to the full realization of a performance, we mentor artists from all backgrounds in political mindfulness, aesthetic practices, and modes of performance.

We hope you will join us whether as a collaborating artist or audience member for our 2017 season.

Join us on March 23-26th, 2017 at the Gallery and the Minimain.

Festival Launch + Cabaret is on February 24th at 6PM, where Festival details will be declared.

Set in London 1997, four lives intertwine over the course of four and a half years in this densely plotted, stinging look at modern love and betrayal. Winner of the 1998 Olivier Award for Best Play and the 1999 New York Drama Critics' Circle Award for Best Foreign Play.
