OFF-JFL - The Sketch Republic Presents: Sadie Hawkins Day

Just for Laughs

Company website

The Sketch Republic, Montreal's premiere monthly sketch comedy show, proudly presents Sadie Hawkins Day from NYC's Matt Barats and John Reynolds. On the night where the girls ask the boys, it's finally the teacher's turn in this raucous new show containing giant lizards, tons of beer, the 'you can do it guy', and references to some of your favorite Oceans 11 characters.

Each performance will also feature sets from Montreal sketch heavyweights:

HOT RAW FIRE is a bunch of buds just rippin’ up some sketch comedy and chillin’ hard style. They perform regularly at The Sketch Republic and won “Best Local Troupe” at the MTL Sketchfest 2015 & 2016. This troupe wouldn’t be troupin’ without the joke-brains of Danny Belair (Dépflies), Paul Naiman (Brunch: The Web Series), Jacob Greco (OFF-JFL), Lise Vigneault (Dépflies) & Deirdre Trudeau (Brunch Club).

Employees of the Year is a Montreal sketch comedy duo comprised of Emelia Hellman and Ross Wegscheider. A blend of mime, satire, song, dance, and profanity, they perform regularly at Theatre Sainte Catherine, Montreal Improv, and other local venues. Most recently they kicked off the 2016 Montreal Sketchfest and are regulars at The Sketch Republic, with a web-series in the works for 2016.

Ladies & Gentlemen are Daniel Carin & Chris Sandiford. They have performed at Vancouver Sketchfest and Toronto Sketchfest as well as multiple shows at Montreal Sketchfest, where they won the Best Local Troupe award in 2014 and the Just For Laughs award 2016. They also co-run and co-host a weekly stand-up show, now in it's third year. They are real-life best friends, now in it's fifth year.

3x JFL Award-winner Al Lafrance returns with a new show, featuring tales allegedly involving missed connections, re-imagined junk mail, human-flavoured burritos, loneliness, and lies. Oops, did I say lies? I meant truths. Yep. For sure.
